Halim heads Matrade

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) has appointed Tan Sri Halim Mohammad as the new chairman of Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) effective April 16 this year.

   
He succeeds Datuk Ahmad Husni Mohammed Hanadzlah, who has been appointed the Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry.

  
Halim, aged 53, is Halim Mazmin Bhd executive chairman and has been a member of Matrade's board of directors since September 1997. He is actively involved in the shipping industry and his experience is useful in steering Matrade to further develop Malaysia's export markets, Miti said in a statement.
