HALIM Mazmin Berhad (HMB) traces its roots back to about a quarter century ago with the dawn of the nation's offshore oil and gas industries that opened opportunities for local companies to engage in ship agency and husbanding services.

Swiftly emerging as the country's largest ship agency for tankers of world's oil majors calling at local ports, the foundation to shipowning was soon laid for HMB, that started off as a joint endeavour between Tan Sri Dato' Seri Halim Mohammad, and his wife, Puan Sri Datin Seri Mazmin Noordin.

HMB has now emerged as a leading player in the Malaysian shipping industry, offering excellent and quality service to its customers. The company, with its group of companies, has a broad-based operation and is considered as one of the largest and most successful private sector-owned public listed shipping companies in Malaysia.

HMB, which was transferred to the Main Board of Listed Companies of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd (Bursa) on 17 January 2002, now has a diversified fleet of nine vessels with a combined fleet strength totaling 311,272 dwt.

The Company's ascension to the Main Board is a clear reflection of its reputation for good and proven financial track record and prudent management.

HMB's prudent quality management has contributed to commendable performance and standards and has earned the Company first-class reputable clients. The Company is also involved in joint-ventures, strategic alliances and business relationships with top-notch international shipping companies.

HMB's rapid progress, achievements and its commitment for excellence earned it the country's first Transport Company of Excellence Award in August 2001 presented by the Minister of Transport.
